In this approach, segmentation takes place at following levels: (a)Global Time Intervals (GTI): This is an utterance-level segmentation wherein speech segments are segmented by pauses during the speech.
(b)Absolute Time Intervals (ATI): A speech utterance is split into several macro-frames at preset time intervals.
(c)Relative Time Intervals (RTI): The utterance is split at fixed relative positions.
Apart from the above schemes, following variants are also used: 1.Global Relative Time Intervals (GRTI): The combination of global and segmental features from RTI scheme.
